Veg-O-Rama, a New Indo-American Fusion Restaurant Opens in Canton Michigan
CANTON MI- Just seventeen months after opening their Ypsilanti location, and being nominated as 1 of 15 top vegan/vegetarian restaurants in Ann Arbor by Reinhart Magazine, and nearly all 5 star ratings on Google, Facebook, and Happy Cow and 4+ ratings on Grubhub and Yelp!, Prafulla Kharkar is thrilled to bring the Veg-O-Rama experience to their hometown of Canton.
They open the doors of their new location at 44930 Ford Road in Canton, Michigan the first week of April 2019.
It all began five years ago, when Prafulla and his wife Shivani started hosting Colorfest, ‘Michigan’s Happiest Festival’, an annual event that attracts over 5000 people to spread happiness, peace and unity through music and food. Colorfest was inspired from an Indian festival called “holi” and it was westernized with dry colors and rock music. The event has been such an incredible success, they realized music, sports and food unite people. Thus the Veg-O-Rama concept was born to spread love through food. With a passion for cooking, and a warm heart, they’ve donated food to several organizations and soup kitchens and experienced a lot of love in return.
“Veg-O-Rama is not about vegan or vegetarian or meat, it is all about good food cooked fresh and served with compassion,’ said Kharkar. “We dream to make it a nationwide chain for healthy and fresh fast food at a very affordable price. Every dish is under 800 calories and under $8! 90% of our food is vegan and gluten free and you won’t even notice it!”
When you walk into Veg-O-Rama, you get to experience the 50s and 60s culture in a casual colorful atmosphere and taste “Love Food” like burgers, wraps and bowls packed with interesting flavors, and fresh ingredients from a selection of over 70 fusion food varieties. Veg-O-Rama creates their signature street food from all over the world with a unique vegan/vegetarian twist like Pirogi, Pestal, Momos, fried tofu, quesadilla, Bhel, samosa chaat, hot dogs, and Cuban sandwiches, just to name a few.
